Beginner Bharatanatyam (Ages 8+) Our Beginner Bharatanatyam class is designed for dancers with little to no prior experience, this class focuses on building a strong foundation in understanding technique and rhythm. Students will learn the basic steps, or adavus, while developing posture, alignment, and an understanding of rhythm and counts. This class is an introduction to Kathak, one of India’s classical dance forms. Young dancers will explore basic footwork, spins, hand gestures, and simple rhythms while learning how movement can tell a story. Through short combinations, students will begin building coordination, musicality, and confidence. Advanced Kathak This class is designed for experienced Kathak dancers with a strong foundation in technique, rhythm (tala), and storytelling (abhinaya). Dancers at this level will refine their precision in footwork, spins, and complex rhythmic patterns, while also exploring advanced compositions. Emphasis will be placed on stage presence, stamina, and performance quality, helping dancers embody both the technical rigor and grace of Kathak. Moksha Arts Dance CompanyThe Moksha Arts Dance Company is our premier performance group for dedicated dancers ages 7+. Company members represent Moksha Arts at community events, showcases, and competitions, both locally and internationally.   Being part of the Dance Company is a commitment to artistic growth, teamwork, and performance excellence. Dancers train weekly in company rehearsals and are also required to enroll in at least one additional class to continue building strong technique and versatility.   As members, dancers receive unique opportunities including: Performing at special events and cultural festivals Participating in our annual Bollywood Dance Video production (not Mandatory) Working closely with teachers (“Didi”) and student mentors Developing leadership, confidence, and stage presence   The Dance Company is more than a performance group. Wear your tutus and tiaras! This class playfully introduces the basic positions and movements of ballet using music, games, creative imagery, and stories. Then, enjoy a special tea party in your tutu after the dancing is done.
