Welcome to our beginner Bharat Natyam dance class!   Bharat Natyam is a classical Indian dance form that combines intricate footwork, graceful hand gestures, expressive facial expressions, and rhythmic body movements. This class is designed for those who are new to Bharat Natyam and want to explore the rich cultural and artistic heritage of this dance style.   Dancers will begin to learn fundamental adavus (steps) and mudras (hand gestures) which form the building blocks of Bharat Natyam. Dancers will explore the fundamental footwork patterns that are the backbone of Kathak and practice different 'tatkars' or rhythmic sequences to develop agility and coordination. International Grandmaster and FIDE Trainer Oliver Barbosa leads a training camp for USCF 1300+. Our camp is designed to help players improve their understanding of Chess and better prepare them for serious competition. This will be high-level training for scholastic players eager to take their game to the next level.
