Description:

Uptown Bala Vihar Geeta and Seva class is volunteering to bring vegetarian food to distribute at the soup kitchen. Please prepare  enough food to serve 10-15 people. If you would like, you can bring Indian food - pilaf, lemon rice, kichadi, an Indian sabji, etc.  If you want to prepare more food, that is always welcome!

The food does not need to be packed in individual containers. We will serve all food directly from the containers into the to-go boxes given to the individuals being served.

You may also bring fruits or pre-packaged bags of individually sized chips. The only rule they have is that the food must be vegetarian (the soup kitchen is run by a Sai Baba devotee group).

Additional Information:

POINT OF ASSEMBLY: Students will arrive directly at the Soup Kitchen at Tompkins Park. The soup kitchen will be set up on Ave A between 7th St and St. Mark's Place. Luster Photo Digital Lab is a reference point on Google maps.

POINT OF DISMISSAL: Students will be dismissed directly from the Soup kitchen spot.

Families undertake full responsibility for drop off and pick up of student volunteers to and from the soup kitchen.
