Description:
Whether it’s during Navratri, at a wedding, or in your bedroom, it’s always the right time to dance Garba! Garba is a community circle dance from the state of Gujarat that has slowly and steadily made its way around the world.
Students in this class will learn steps of the Gujarati folk dance set to Garba & Raas inspired Bollywood hit songs— and walk away having put the steps to one of these songs!

10% of proceeds from this class will support “A Seat at Soup,” a new initiative that dedicates studio space and resources to a Black woman, trans, or non-binary emerging artist based in New York City. Conceived by Chinatown Soup, a volunteer-powered, nonprofit art community in service of emerging artists, the residency program encompasses four months of art-making at our shared studio and culminates with a week-long solo show at Soup Gallery.
Chinatown Soup is a creative community advancing art, justice, historic preservation, and civic engagement in downtown New York.
