Description:

Every Bollywood song has a story to tell, and we as dancers get to tell them using steps, mudras, and our expressions. Our expressions help us communicate the feel or mood of a piece with the audience. Difference of expression turns a happy song into a sad song, a powerful song into a shy song, a playful song into a serious one. And most importantly, expressions help us let our personalities shine on stage.

Referencing expressions as defined by the Navrasa, or nine major expressions of South Asian classical dance, each of the four weeks students will learn choreography and ways of emoting different specific expressions. Set to fun Bollywood Hits from the recent and distant past, this class will help students build skills to let expressions shine on stage!

Zoom link will be sent to all registered students.
